The Challenge
David didn’t want a basic canopy bolted onto a tray. He wanted a system — something built from the ground up, with smart storage, clean electrics, and seamless integration with the Silverado’s factory tech. It had to be self-sufficient, heavy-duty, and look just as good as it worked.
We knew this wouldn’t be a small job, but Canero is built for big projects like this.
Silverado 2500 Premium Tray Setup
When you’re building a rig like this Silverado 2500, the tray has to do more than just hold gear — it’s got to work as hard as the truck itself. That’s why we started with our Canero Premium Aluminium Tray, which is custom-built right here in Orange, NSW. It’s lightweight but tough, with flush tie-downs, full-length toolboxes, and a tidy rear panel that hides sensors and wiring without compromising on access. Built from heavy-duty alloy with internal bracing for the long haul, it’s powder-coated inside and out and finished with weather-sealed locks.
